Footwear is a key part of the uniform. Footwear must be completely black. Whilst we allow children to wear trainers, they must not have any other colourings including white soles. Footwear with any other colourings will be expected to be replaced with the appropriate style immediately. Therefore, to avoid this happening, please have a look below at the examples of what is and is not permitted or speak with a member of the school before purchasing the footwear.
For girls, it is important that the footwear has a flat sole and does not have a heel as this could cause injury to the child when walking/running.
Jewellery is often expensive and any loss or damage can cause unnecessary disappointment. For this reason, most jewellery is not allowed at Applegarth as is not in line with our uniform policy. The only form of jewellery that is allowed at Applegarth is stud earrings. Hoop or dangling earrings are not allowed as they may cause injury to your child’s ears. Unfortunately, if your child is wearing hoop or dangling earrings, they will have to stay with their class teacher during break and lunch play for safety reasons.
Please ensure that your child does not wear jeans, hoodies or other non-uniform clothes to school.
