Science

Here at Applegarth Academy, we aim to provide an enquiry rich science curriculum that engages all learners across a range of scientific strands within biology, chemistry and physics. Our science lessons are designed to develop practical skills whilst evoking thoughts to ask and answer questions in order to gain an understanding of the world they live in. Children are encouraged to work collaboratively, recall and apply substantive knowledge, make links, identify patterns and formulate both verbal and written conclusions based on own experience and observation. Ultimately, we aim for our children to ‘think like a scientist’ through a curriculum which sparks curiosity.
